BioI am a Postdoctoral Apprentice - er, "Fellow" - in the McDevitt "Taste Chip" research group at the University of Texas at Austin, where I do research that promises to Change the World someday. Truly, UT Austin and Austin itself is one of the most mind-blowingly great places on earth, and I count myself lucky to be back after an almost decade-long diaspora (to such places as Boston, Houston, and Ithaca, NY mind you -- so not exactly an exile to the empty plains of the midwest or anything). Sadly, Austin is growing faster than it ought to be and the locals are having quite a bit of trouble to "Keep Austin Wierd".
